The Arctic Tern, a small and slender little bird, embarks on a remarkable journey each year, averaging about 40,000 km, navigating the Arctic to the Antarctic and back. With a name derived from the old English word "Stearn", this bird is renowned for its resilience and unwavering resolve to reach its destination despite the vast distances and challenges. It's a befitting metaphor for healthcare professionals who aspire to build international careers.

TERN’s inception is rooted in the personal experience and astute observation of our company’s CEO and founder, Avinav. He embarked on his migratory journey in 2023 when he relocated to the UK. He gained valuable insights into the job market landscape across Europe, the UK, and the Gulf during his time at a prop-tech startup. He saw how these regions grappled with an acute shortage of skilled talent; meanwhile, in countries like India, qualified professionals struggled to access fair opportunities abroad.
But there’s also an outrageous number of cases where skilled professionals fall prey to unethical recruitment practices. Exorbitant fees and false promises tarnish their hopes and aspirations of a career abroad. On the other hand, reputable employers face challenges sourcing the right talent to fulfil critical roles in the sector. This wasn’t merely an inconvenient disconnect, but rather a representation of a systemic issue affecting both employers and job seekers.
It was this realisation that catalysed the concept of TERN. A platform that would bridge the gap, creating a mutually beneficial ecosystem for both skilled professionals and employers.
